Final Choice - - Mumford & Sons - Awake My Soul

The reason we chose this song. 'Mumford & Sons - Awake My Soul' - is that we feel from the video's essence, we have ideas on how/what we will be setting of the video. We as a group all enjoy Mumford & Sons music genre, and believed that if you're enjoying something (The song choice) then you'll enjoy making the video to it. Mumford & Sons music genre is "Indie folk' so we thought we'd look at some over indie bands videos who are similar to Mumford & Sons, too see what types of videos they have.

After watching a collection of the videos from these two bands, we all agreed that. Often the videos are quite ambiguous, and also relate to the song lyrics, they use strange effects to help draw the readers eye and keep them engaged; And they also base the video with the band itself, such as will have long shot's of the whole band, playing there instruments; I think we'll have to add some peculiar effects to our video as this will help add emphasis to the whole 'indie genre' (Short for individual)

Two songs we rejected:

MGMT - Weekend Wars (Psychedelic Rock)

We initially chose this song first, and made a hypothesis on how our video would look, and how we could produce it. But then looking through some MGMT's other video's we found it hard to look/act/be similar to them, and make our video's look as magical and unique as there's Also looking through the lyrics of the song, we found it hard to relate too and how we could base a video around these lyrics. Benefits of using this song and basing our video on the song is:

It's very psychedelic, so we could be incredibly creative and put subliminal references within it, which relate to the song. Being it so creative we could almost base our video in any setting/and place and make subtle references and it would all piece to piece very well.

Foals Two Steps, Twice (Indie Rock/Punk Pop)

This is a very chirpy indie song, what we all enjoyed listening to. We felt making a video to this song would be good, due to it's up beat tempo and enlivening essence. But due to there being quite a lot of instrumental sections throughout the song, we found it hard to think up idea's of how we could make the video into a song. Benefits of using this song would be, that we dress similar to the members of the band themselves, there video's are never to 'Hi-tec' and they don't tend to use a big budget for making there video's. Also we all enjoy listening to Foals.
